Fixing

Stabilization is required for drawings that have become unstable and may disintegrate. Stabilization may also be required when the usually pale layer between the pigment and wood/fabric (base) is at risk of disintegrating into dust, becoming friable. Stabilization is done through impregnation of special adhesives, such as plant or animal based glues, or artificial adhesives, such as primal, using a syringe or brush. 2 photographs with captions:
