Invasive maintenance - paintings

Invasive maintenance of painted works focuses more on preserving the original image than the material itself, with the purpose of maintaining the original intent of the artist. Therefore, invasive maintenance and repair requires the restoration of damaged portions and the bonding and replacement of torn sections.

All materials used in the restoration process should be reversible.

The aim of the conservator is to stabilize the original work while seamlessly integrating any restoration procedures.
